Visiting

Go to Health Updates page

Friends and colleagues have inquired about visiting. I am only seeing close friends at this time. If you do not have my home address, feel free to email me.

Instructions for Visitors
– No viral illness. We need to work together to protect me. Please do not come over if you’re not feeling well, you had recent exposure to Covid or flu, or symptoms of any other viral illness.
– No animal dander. I am very allergic to dogs and cats. If you have a pet at home, please wash your clothes, then put them in a hot dryer for 20 minutes before you come over. (Heat destroys any dander.)
– No tree nuts. I have a serious allergy to tree nuts. (Coconuts and peanuts are not tree nuts.)
– No perfume. I have become sensitive to strong smells. Please do not wear perfume or other strong fragrances when you visit me.

Bringing Food
It is truly not necessary to bring anything when you visit; the gift of your presence is delightful. But if you really want to eat together, please know that I am now on a very restrictive medical diet. Here are some foods that I can eat. One item is plenty, kindly stick to the list. Also feel free to ask me if you have any questions.

Homemade Foods
– Soup with vegetables and/or beans (low salt, low fat)
– Cooked veggies
– Roasted chicken (low salt)
– Rice or quinoa
– Turkey, lamb, or chicken burgers or meatballs (low salt, low fat)

Grocery Store
– Organic apples or pears
– Dark chocolate without nuts (it’s okay if nuts are processed in the same facility)
– Flax4Life gluten-free muffins (4 pack)
– Herbal tea (see restrictions below)

Lemat or Barcote or Café Colucci
– Veggie combo with gluten-free injera

Itani Sushi (in Epicurious Garden)
– Spicy salmon roll
– Spicy tuna roll

Razan’s Organic Kitchen
– Chicken shish kebab wrap
– Wild salmon shish kebab wrap

Fava
– Chicken plate

Restrictions
– I’m on a low sodium and low fat diet
– I’m counting carbs (I can have some, just not a lot)
– I have a serious allergy to tree nuts, shellfish, and many tropical fruits (including avocado, melon, papaya, and kiwi)
– I’m sensitive to gluten and dairy so I try to avoid them, but I’m not truly allergic to them
– I’m repulsed by anything with a strong smell
